So NEVERCAT is an upcoming 2D game that is made in Unity. Its levels are composed on the fly, and made of predefined segments \u2013 each of them can contain traps, enemies, obstacles.<\/p>\n

Unity has a great versatile editor, but I realized that creating 30+ 2D segments is very difficult to create and maintain there. Managing prefabs, trying to snap 2d objects in the editor, testing the segment… Creating something simple has become too time consuming and demotivating.<\/p>\n

Besides, working on game graphics, trying sprites on and checking what the sprite package looks like in real world required me replacing graphics in Unity manually and yes \u2013 also time consuming and demotivating.<\/p>\n

Having the power of LLMs, I thought \u2013 what if I created a separate web editor that could be hosted on a shared web hosting, available for both me (level designer) and the artist, and providing all the tools to do exactly what we need, and do it EASILY. And then, by clicking one button, exporting everything to my Unity project, and testing it in the game.<\/p>\n

Three days later, I got it tested and polished well enough to use for its purpose.<\/p>\n
