These guidelines apply to the official javi! IRC network operated by Smallhall.
javi! can also connect to third-party IRC networks. Those networks are governed by their own rules and operators.
Be respectful
Do not use the javi! network to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate other people;
- repeatedly target someone after they have asked you to stop;
- encourage violence or abuse against another person;
- attack people based on protected personal characteristics.
Do not share harmful or illegal content
Do not use the network to distribute or promote:
- illegal content;
- sexual exploitation or abuse of minors;
- credible threats of violence;
- malware, phishing, credential theft, or malicious software;
- instructions or material intended primarily to facilitate serious illegal activity.
No spam or scams
Do not:
- send unsolicited repetitive messages;
- flood channels or users;
- operate scams or fraudulent schemes;
- impersonate another person or organization in order to deceive others;
- distribute deceptive links or phishing pages.
Respect privacy
Do not publish another person's private information without permission.
This includes sensitive personal information, private addresses, credentials, private communications, or other information that could reasonably put someone at risk.
Do not evade enforcement
Do not create additional accounts or otherwise attempt to evade a suspension, ban, moderation action, or other restriction imposed by the official javi! network.
Channels
Channel owners and moderators may create additional rules for their communities, provided those rules do not conflict with these guidelines.
Channel moderation actions do not necessarily represent decisions by Smallhall.
Enforcement
Depending on the situation, violations may result in actions such as:
- warnings;
- message or channel moderation;
- removal from channels;
- temporary restrictions;
- suspension or deletion of an account;
- network-level bans.
We may take immediate action where necessary to protect users or the service.
Reporting abuse
To report abuse or a violation of these guidelines on the official javi! network:
Please include, where possible:
- the nickname or account involved;
- the channel or conversation;
- approximate date and time;
- relevant message text or screenshots;
- a short explanation of the problem.
Do not send account passwords or verification codes.
Third-party IRC networks
Smallhall cannot enforce these Community Guidelines on IRC networks operated by third parties.
If an incident takes place on another IRC network, use that network's own moderation or abuse-reporting process.
Client-side safety features in javi!, such as blocking, apply only to your experience in the javi! app and do not ban a person from a third-party network.
